Production Team Lead

Responsible for managing safety, environmental hazards, and departmental resources while setting clear goals, organizing workflows, monitoring employee performance and productivity, and providing constructive feedback and coaching in alignment with the company’s mission and vision, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe and compliant work environment through housekeeping, 5S standards, proper PPE usage, adherence to safety procedures, and prevention or containment of environmental hazards. This position oversees shift performance against key KPIs including scrap rate, heldware, speed, headcount, and productivity, ensures departmental procedures such as Job-ON/Job-OFF, QRQC initiation, and accurate escalation of quality issues are followed, makes final production decisions, and reports results accurately to departmental and plant leadership; responsibilities also include managing attendance for direct reports by completing daily attendance reporting, maintaining trackers and ADP records, approving timesheets, administering return-to-work processes, coaching and counseling on attendance policies, initiating progressive discipline when needed, reviewing and approving time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage, tracking accruals, and submitting vacation documentation to Payroll. The role handles conflict resolution by escalating employee-related issues through the established chain of command and managing performance and behavior with appropriate documentation, supports skills development by identifying training needs, ensuring training is facilitated and documented, and submitting required pay adjustments, and ensures smooth shift operations by confirming employees are performing safe, value-added work with necessary materials while carrying out additional duties as assigned by APU, HR, or plant leadership.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering plus 12 months of supervisory or management experience in glass manufacturing operations; 12 months of experience with SAP or Inventory Control system; and 12 months of experience with cGMP – Good Manufacturing Practice.
Salary: 79,206 per year
